What is metabolic health?



Metabolic health refers to the body's ability to effectively process and use energy from food, as well as maintain healthy levels of blood sugar, insulin, and other metabolic markers. This includes the ability to efficiently burn calories, store and use glucose and fat, and respond to insulin.


When the body's metabolic functions are working properly, it can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. A healthy diet and regular exercise are important factors in maintaining metabolic health, as well as managing stress. Getting enough sleep and avoiding smoking or excessive alcohol consumption also improves metabolic health.
